Universalism
People that have annoyed me over the years are those that I call those “Selective Listeners.” Do know what I mean? Sure you do! I guess we have all done it from time to time. Selective listeners are those who only listen or read to support what they already believe in, or to rebut what they do not believe in. They do not listen or read to learn, but simply to reinforce their prejudices. You can see it in their eyes when you are talking to them, namely that:
“YOU CAN’T TELL ME A THING I DON’T ALREADY KNOW.”
But then again, selective listening is a beneficial ability, and even a necessary one at times. Yes the ability to shut out or deaden certain sounds and words is a requirement on occasion for sheer survival. A.W. Auden points out that in our modern city a great deal of our energy has to be expended in not seeing certain sights, not hearing certain sounds, and not smelling certain aromas. He states:
“AN INHABITANT OF NEW YORK CITY WHO POSSESSED THE SENSORY
ACUTENESS OF AN AFRICAN BUSHMAN WOULD
VERY SOON GO MAD.”
As much as I dislike being selectively listened to, I have found in these last years that I myself am becoming a selective listener not in the Big Apple, but of all places in church. No, no, not because I am a preacher, though I guess there is some truth to the following definition of a preacher:
“A PREACHER IS A MAN WHO WOULD CROSS A CONTINENT TO
PREACH A SERMON, BUT WOULD NOT CROSS THE
STREET TO HEAR ONE.”
No, I am talking about selective listening to prevent:
“AUDITORY ASSAULT AND CARDIAC DAMAGE.”
Am I talking about some of the noise in modern day churches that passes for praise and worship? No, but coming to think of it, that too is relevant and very applicable when it comes to selective noise reception. I recently attended a church in which each beat of the drums and each note of the steel guitars was so deafening and assaulting, in that every note sounded like a artillery mortar round going off alongside of my head. All the while people in the front were doing Western Line Dancing and calling it worship.
I mean, it is really something that when you go to church, and afterward you feel the need to celebrate and email your children with the message:
“WENT TO CHURCH THIS MORNING AND ARRIVED HOME SAFELY
AFTER ESCAPING WITH MINIMAL AUDITORY OR
CARDIAC DAMAGE.”
No, I am really talking about the need of selective listening to avoid auditory assault and damage in church or from religious programming on television, because of the preaching and the promulgation of the false and rancid doctrine of UNIVERSALISM which itself comes in many different and offensive faces, ways, and sounds. There are many subtleties that abound in it, and if we are not acutely discerning we too shall be sucked into this:
“UNIVERSALISM QUICKSAND”
To completely change metaphors for a moment, going to church in many places these days is like riding in the old western railroad train or stagecoachwhen you are suddenly held up and robbed by armed badmen who steal everything of value, and then shoot you and leave you for dead.
However, in the modern church stagecoach, the armed badmen are black-robed, false-gospel, six-gun brandishing preachers who rob you of the fundamental truths of the Christian faith and leave you for dead. (Six is the number of man, not the number of God.) In this regard also, these ordained pulpit thieves and thefts are so shocking, that your senses are clouded by shame and embarrassment so that at first you aren’t able to fully relate to what has happened.
WE CAN’T SAY THAT CHRISTIANS GO TO HEAVEN AND HINDUS DON’T
Larry King on “Larry King Live” interviewed Pastor Joel Osteen and his wife Victoria on June 20, 2005. Larry King’s questions of Joel Osteen were so elementary, basic, and straight-forward that a Sunday School kid in any solid Christian Church could have answered King’s questions with Biblical clarity, decisiveness, and correctness. Larry King’s interview of Joel Osteen did not require him to pass some sort of Bible SAT exam.
But what happened instead was that Christianity was made to look and sound like a foggy, hazy, nondescript, wishy-washy, indeterminate, universalist religion. What follows will make obvious the “Religious Universalism” of Joel Osteen, namely, that whatever God you serve under whatever name, it is really the same God for all, and the important thing is that you love that God in your own way, and then you will go to Heaven.
King asked Osteen:
“WHAT IF YOU ARE JEWISH OR MUSLIM AND YOU DON’T
ACCEPT CHRIST AT ALL?”
Osteen responded:
“YOU KNOW, I AM VERY CAREFUL ABOUT SAYING WHO WOULD
AND WHO WOULDN’T GO TO HEAVEN. I DON’T KNOW.”
King continued to press for the truth of genuine Christianity:
“IF YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IN CHRIST,
THEY’RE WRONG AREN’T THEY.”
Osteen answers:
“WELL, I DON’T KNOW IF I BELIEVE THEY ARE WRONG. BUT I JUST
THINK THAT GOD WILL JUDGE A PERSON. I SPENT A LOT OF TIME
IN INDIA WITH MY FATHER. I DON’T KNOW ABOUT THEIR RE-
LIGION. BUT I KNOW THAT THEY LOVE GOD. AND I DON’T
KNOW. I’VE SEEN THEIR SINCERITY. SO I DON’T KNOW.”
Needless to say that with those “ONE GOD UNIVERSAL RELIGION” answers, Larry King was left as “Larry King Dead” on “Larry King Live.” As time went on while listening to this debacle, I found myself wanting to cover my ears to shut it out for I could not believe my ears.
FIRST, it is more than noteworthy that Osteen repeated a most suspicious and alarming phrase over and over again, which is:
“I DON’T KNOW.”
To hear him talk one would think that he had just taken a beanball to the noggin. But that is the way it is with “Religious Universalists.” Nothing is decisive and exclusive, rather, everything is open-ended and undefined. They have left the well-defined and delineated eschatology of the Bible for the undefined and non-delineated, feel-good gospel of their eschatological Disney World. Yet, they can’t get out of their heads what the Bible clearly teaches. So that they are lost in the haze of a generalized and generic “I Don’t Know.”
Mr. King asked Joel Osteen about those in other religions who do not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and King got a “UNIVERSAL RELIGIONIST’S” song and dance, run-around answer. Osteen’s straightforward answer should have been that you must accept Jesus Christ alone as your God, Savior and Lord to go to Heaven, and if you don’t, you will go to Hell.
Did I say Hell? Oh my, for at the first sniff of Hell’s flames and smoke, the “Religious Universalist” slinks back into the shadows of “I Don’t Know.” It should have been as simple as 2+2=4, but not for the “UNIVERSAL RELIGIONIST.” John 3:16 was not brought into the discussion, for it is far too delineated, defined, and discriminating – for believers in Christ only have eternal life and all others perish.
SECOND, Osteen did not say that the gods of Islam or Hinduism are false gods. No, because for the “Universal Religionist” there are no spiritual or religious dead-end streets. There are many roads to Heaven, and as long as you love your god or gods and are sincere about it, you are in. Even though Jesus Christ said with utter exclusivity in John 14:6.
“I AM THE WAY….”
Look, the “Many Ways To God and Heaven” heresy of “Religious Universalism” has been around for a long time in fringe sects, and is as common as mud in vaguely religious worldlings. But now that heresy is coming into the churches through the “Emerging Church Movement.” In modern Christianity that mud is being smeared all over the mind’s eyes of people who call themselves Christians.
THIRD, Osteen actually said that the Hindus “BELIEVE IN GOD.” What God? Well being a monotheist, Osteen was in fact saying that Hinduism believes in the very same God that Christians believe in. Moslems too!
President Obama when asked what he believed, stated this:
“I BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE MANY PATHS TO THE SAME PLACE…THAT
THERE IS A HIGHER POWER…THE BELIEF THAT WE ARE
CONNECTED AS A PEOPLE.”
I am sure that would come as quite a surprise to Moslems and Hindus who don’t believe in Jesus Christ whatsoever as God the Son and the only begotten Son of God. The Moslems believe in their false deity Allah, and Hindus believe in their false, chief deity Brahman.
I am sure that our Triune God doesn’t get a big kick out of being linked or made synonymous with fake gods. We are told something that we had better take very seriously, and that is when God says about Himself in Exodus 2:5,
“For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God.”
This means that:
“GOD DOES NOT WORK WELL ON A COMMITTEE WITH OTHER GODS.”
Remember:
“OUR GOD HAS COMPETELY CUT OUT THE BOTTOM OF HISTORY’S
BAG OF gods, WITH THE GOD TO END ALL gods.”
A GOD OF LOVE CAN’T BE A GOD OF WRATH
How often have you heard that one? God is someone that you can have fun with, not someone you have to fear? Oh yes, how we love that kind of god, a god who lets the good times roll 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but never severely punishes us for the self-caused bad times in our lives.
Sunday morning we visited a church and the worship leader began the humanistic glut by asking, “Did you come here today believing for your blessing from God.” Everyone shouted, “Amen!” (An Amen by the way that was the hollowest amen I have ever heard.) I thought we had come to worship and bless the Lord. No, apparently we came for God to bless us, a God that is only capable of blessing and not ever blistering sinners with judgment or the fires of Hell. A God that actually sends sinners to Hell!? Who would ever want to spend a Sunday in that bully’s house?
You know where this is going don’t you. Yes indeed, the god of the MODERN UNIVERSALIST, a god of love only who does not set a sinner-trap called Hell from which unbelievers and ungodly will never escape! No, rather, He greases all people’s way to Heaven with His greasy grace. Wheeee!!! Everyone slides into Heaven safely in MODERN UNIVERSALISM.
You see, MODERN UNIVERALISTS are those like Carlton Pearson, Rob Bell, Peter Heitt, and many others today who crusade against a wrathful God who would punish sinners in an everlasting Hell, for that God would be ranked no higher than a cruel dictator, a raving militant, and a triune wrecking crew.
Universalist Carlton Pearson states:
“AND I COULDN’T RECONCILE A GOD WHOSE MERCY ENDURES
FOREVER AND THIS TORTURE CHAMBER THAT’S
CUSTOMIZED FOR UNBELIEVERS.” **
He goes on:
“YOU CAN’T BE HAPPY, AND HOW CAN YOU REALLY LOVE A GOD
WHO IS TORTURING YOUR GRANDMOTHER?” **

However, all of those vilifications of the God of love and wrath are simply evasions of the true God of the Bible Who levels His thundering sentence of justice and wrath against the unfaithful and unprofitable servant in Matthew 25:30 KJV,
“Cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness, there shall
weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
“Never,” says Carlton Pearson! That God according to the MODERN UNIVERSALIST is nothing other than a Moby Dick or a fire breathing dragon at best.
Rob Bell, a Michigan pastor of a mege-church just down the road from us, in his book Love Wins criticizes the belief that a select number of Christians will spend eternity in the bliss of Heaven while everyone else is tormemted in Hell. He states:
“THIS IS MISGUIDED AND TOXIC AND ULTIMTELY SUBVERTS THE
CONTAGIOUS SPREAD OF JESUS’ MESSAGE OF LOVE, PEACE,
FORGIVENESS, AND JOY THAT OUR WORLD DESPERATELY
NEEDS TO HEAR.”
UNIVERSALISM in the modern church was bound to happen as an inevitable result of the “Disney World-Amusement Park” sick theology that has taken over vast segments of the ecclesiastical world. A God who takes His children to the woodshed has now become unthinkable and intolerable.
God in this “Bless-Me-Religion” age has become Santa from the North Pole, and His angels are merry elves who manufacture all of His gifts for His good, little children. A God of wrath Who would punish His children in Hell is now obsolete, offensive, and outlawed. Rather, like Santa on Christmas morning, modern religionists expect Santa-God to show up at their houses every morning before dawn loaded with goodies for His little darlings. Sure enough, how could He not be everybody’s favorite God! You just gotta love Him!
Come on now, let’s hear it, everybody join in:
“FOR HE’S A JOLLY GOOD GODDOH,
FOR HE’S A JOLLY GOOD GODDOH,
FOR HE’S A JOLLY GOOD GODDOH,
AND THAT NO ONE CAN DENY.”
Why, “Jolly Good Goddoh” can’t even look the slightest displeased anymore without the MODERN UNIVERSALISTS likening Him to Sauron the Dark Lord of Mordor in “Lord Of The Rings.”
And yet, like it or not here He comes, the God of the Bible, God in His wrath, and suddenly you think that you are walking with Frodo and Samwise watching Sauron over and over again having another fierce fit. Here comes the God, not of Gandalf, Aragorn, and Theoden, but the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and He is not in a good mood at all. He is having a real hairy, as kids would say today, as He tears up the Cedars of Lebanon, shakes the wilderness to pieces, breathes out and divides lightning like flames of fire, and literally reduces mountains to mole hills, so that the whole creation bends and cracks under His anger.
How out of character is that? This cannot be the God of the Scriptures, but rather, the dark lord Sauron belching out His fire and smoke from Mt Doom. Wrong, it is the God of the Bible manifesting the terrors of His infinite indignation, causing the strongest things in nature to wet their pants, crouch, and then sink into nothingness at the sound of His voice.
Where do we read this stuff? Oh, it is in the Bible, as for instance Psalm 29:5-9,
“Yes, the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.”
“The voice of the Lord hews out flames of fire.”
“The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness.”
“The voice of the Lord…strips the forest bare.”
God on the rampage! Nothing and no one has ever experienced His full wrath and vengeance and lived to tell about it except “The Lord of the Lords” and “The King of the Kings” – Jesus Christ. Surely:
“THERE WAS NO SORROW LIKE UNTO HIS SORROW, FOR THERE IS
NO WRATH LIKE UNTO GOD’S WRATH.”
And then in the end, while UNIVERSALISTS try to take the wrath out of God, and the hell out of Hell, God throws the wicked into a place of OUTER DARKNESS, WEEPING AND WAILING, GNASHING OF TEETH, UNEXTINGUISHABLE FLAMES, UNDYING WORMS, and a FIREY FURNACE. Not exactly your four star hotel. But more like a four XXXX hell-hole.
Where do we read this stuff? Oh, it too is in the Bible, as in the following passages such as in the very well known Mark 9:47-48,
“And if your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out; it is better
for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, than
having two eyes, to be cast into Hell,”
“where their WORM DOES NOT DIE, and the FIRE
IS NOT QUENCHED.”
Or, Matthew 8:11-12,
“And I say unto you, that many shall come from east and west,
and recline at the table with Abraham, and Isaac, and
Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven;”
“but the sons of the kingdom (of darkness) shall be cast into
the OUTER DARKNESS, and there shall be WEEPING AND
GNASHING OF TEETH.”
Or, Matthew 14:41-42,
“The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather
out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those
who commit lawlessness,”
“and will cast them into the FURNACE OF FIRE; in that place there
shall be WEEPING AND GNASHING OF TEETH.”
And we therefore can be assured by the look and sound of things:
“THAT THESE HELLISH FIGURES ARE STILL BELOW AND FALL
SHORT OF THE HELLISH FACTS.”
There in that place:
“GOD’S WRATH WILL BRING HOME THE GUILT OF SIN, AND BIND
THAT GUILT TO THE CONSCIENCES OF THE WICKED WITH
UNBREAKABLE AND UNBURNABLE FETTERS FOREVER.”
You see, that grim side of the God of love the UNIVERSALIST denies, and avoids eye contact with, so that he doesn’t have to admit that He actually exists. Why? Because it blows apart his preferred concept of God as a chubby, kind, indulgent, and slow-moving Santa! Thereby, the UNIVERSALIST is creating a hell of a mess for so many other deceived people who think that God is a good-time Charley who looks the other way when we are naughty.
EVERYBODY WILL BE SAVED – NO ONE WILL BE LOST
That is to say, everybody will go to Heaven, and no one will go to Hell, because Christ died for all. I had a UNIVERSALIST WOMAN in my second pastorate who believed and confessed this, and based her convictions on I Corinthians 15:22,
“For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.”
What made her isogete that text from the totality of Scripture was the fact that she had a son who had been a moral degenerate and died in that state. She could not bear the thought of her son in Hell, and she heard some UNIVERSALIST PREACHER totally butcher this text and gave her a false hope for her boy.
All of this is much like many UNIVERSALISTS who strongly react to the thought of a God of wrath, because He reminds them of the cruelty of their own fathers from whom they were the targets of verbal abuse, scorn, and derision. There is often so much personal and relational stuff that goes into the mindset and making of the UNIVERSALIST.
There are so many vulnerable and susceptible people out there in the grass roots who are predisposed to the UNIVERSALISM LIE that in the end everyone will be saved. Like the believing parents of practicing gay children who fall for THE UNIVERSALIST DECEPTION that God is a God of love only, and would send no one to Hell.
Added to that is another one of Satan’s seductive lies that tells them that God created homosexuals and lesbians that way with a variant gene that validates their perverted sexual behavior.
Listen now:
“SO THAT THE SINNER MAY SLEEP SOUNDLY IN HIS PERVERSION,
THE DEVIL IS SURE TO MAKE HIS BED JUST SOFT ENOUGH
THROUGH THE UNIVERSALIST’S SOUL DAMNING LIE.”
If it wasn’t for the absence of blunt-force-Bible preaching in the church, and Satan’s lies through the UNIVERSALIST THEOLOGY IN THE CHURCH, every church-going gay person would in bed at night, and in their nightmarish sleep thrash, gyrate, and thrust their arms and legs like crazed ninjas. By morning their guilt would be so bad that they would feel that they had been beaten and left for dead. Why? Because the Bible is very clear when it says in I Corinthians 6:9-10,
“Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the
kingdom of God?”
“Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,
nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,”
“nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers,
shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
This is the horrible treachery of the UNIVERSALIST HERESY in the modern Christian Church, and that is:
“WITH THE UNIVERSALIST ASSURANCE THAT GOD’S WINGS OF LOVE
AND TOTAL ACCEPTANCE ARE SPREAD OVER EVERY SINNER, THE
SINNERS NEED NOT BE ALARMED BY DANGERS AND DISGRACES
TO THEIR SOULS, BUT CAN PURSUE THEIR EVIL WITH EASE,
SAFETY, PEACE OF MIND, AND A GOOD REPUTATION.”
Of course it is a setup for their plunge into Hell which is exactly what Satan wants!
The Satan-inspired UNIVERSALIST in every way bulldozes the Bible and sends Scripture after Scripture flying off in every direction to make room for his false religion. John 8:44 tells us this:
“SATAN IS A LIAR AND THE FATHER OF LIES.”
That is all he does is lie to people as the progenitor of all lies. You will never see Satan walking around with tears of emotion running down his cheeks because people believe the truth. No, it only enrages him more, and there is not a moment of let up in his crusade of lies to deceive people, particularly to deceive church people.
That is why so many churches are going off into increasingly wobbly orbits. When talking to people and pastors these days, I often feel that to ward off untruth I have hardly any time left to sleep, shave or shower. Without a church called to constant prayer and fasting, we don’t stand a decent chance against Satan’s lying sniper fire and flying shrapnel.
Did you know that studies have been done on rats which if given the choice between sugared water and regular rat chow, the rats by far preferred the sweet water even to the point of death by malnutrition? Oh, well, drats to the rats.
But you see Satan also knows that people, particularly religious people, also prefer sweets over substance. The church today is suffering with acute diabetes, with “Sugar Daddy – Cotton Candy” preachers delivering hammer blow after hammer blow to the pancreas of the Body of Christ by replacing real food in their spiritual diet with tons of sugar-sermons.
People today in churches are sitting there with their snouts shoved into hot-fudge-Sunday sermons, while their “Amens” are being muffled by the whipped cream and their attempts to lick the ice cream dish to the last possible slick.
And the biggest hot-fudge Sunday these days is the UNIVERSALIST’S cherry-on-top teaching that:
“EVERYONE WILL GO TO HEAVEN AND NO ONE WILL GO TO HELL,
BECAUSE THEIR SODA-FOUNTAIN-JERK GOD WOULD NEVER
SERVE UP SOMETHING THAT BITTER AND BAD.”
And have you noticed that Satan lies like the devil? I mean, there are those times that he will try flanking maneuvers which he is really good at. But today, it is the in-your-face bold lies because the people’s church brains have already been softened up by only goodie-god preaching, and addicted to the more subtle lies of the modern all-you-want-to-eat cafeteria preachers. So, it is not at all a quantum leap but only a baby step to go all the way with the devil’s UNIVERSALIST THEOLOGY.
And what is shocking is that he tells us the exact opposite of what God says to us in His word, and he is getting away with it and having great success. For we know that while the devil preaches UNIVERSAL SALVATION, the Bible tells us that not even a slim majority will be saved, but rather a small minority. We read in Matthew 22:14 the somber and heartrending words of our Lord:
“For many are called, but few are chosen.”
And again in Matthew 7:13,14,15 the sobering words of our Lord:
“Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is
broad that leads to destruction, and many are
those who enter by it.”
“For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life,
and few are those who find it.”
“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s
clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.”
HELL IS AN EARTHLY STATE – NOT AN ETERNAL PLACE
How often have you heard the word HELL used stupidly about earthly situations and places? You know, like, “Man, I’ve got one hell of a headache.” And the often used, “What a hell of a mess!” Then there is the common, “War is hell on earth.” Or the often used, “It hurt like hell.”
And, “What the hell is wrong with you?” Then finally are the ever popular, “To hell with it,” or, “To hell with you.” I am sure there are more.
You see in all of this, “Hell” is being defined as earthly conditions or situations. That is as far as people’s awareness of Hell goes. It is not an eternal place of suffering for the wicked, but a handy expletive for the frustrated, pained and ticked off on earth.
Of course, if they had any idea of what Hell really is, they would stop using the word so flippantly. Nothing bad on earth can even come close to the horrors of Hell. When man uses the word Hell on the streets, in the factory, or wherever these days, each time he does it:
“HE IS MINIMIZING HELL AND TAKES THE HELL OUT OF HELL.”
UNIVERSALISTS do the same! The UNIVERSALIST MANTRA of “HELL IS TEMPORAL AND EARTHLY MISERY AND NOT A PLACE OF ETERNAL SUFFERING” is what man wants to believe. I mean, you can live like Hell now and not pay for it in Hell later. As I heard a man on TV say not too long ago, “That’s a Hell of a good deal.” As if Hell could ever be a good deal!
Universalist Carlton Pearson states:
“HELL EXISTS ON EARTH. PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN HELL CREATE
HELL FOR THEMSELVES AND OTHERS AND ACT IT OUT.” ***

Universalist Rob Bell states:
“I BEGIN WITH THE REALITY THAT HEAVEN AND HELL ARE
HERE AND NOW…WE CAN CREATE ALL SORTS OF HELLS
RIGHT HERE IF WANT TO…WE SEE PEOPLE CHOOSING
HELL AROUND US ALL THE TIME.” ****

Enough of this! We read in Revelations 21:8,
“But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and
murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and
idolaters and all liars (including lying Universalists),
their part will be in the lake that burns with fire
and brimstone, which is the second death.”
What’s the name of that lake again that the wicked go to forever? Lake Fire and Brimstone! Doesn’t sound like a lake you would want to spend some R&R at or in. Let alone forever! Hell is a place always in the Bible characterized as a real hot spot. Frankly:
“IF GOD HIMSELF COULD PREPARE A PLACE WORSE THAN HELL,
THEN HELL ITSELF WOULD BE TOO GOOD.”
And who do you find swimming around in the flames of Lake Fire and Brimstone? Cowards, unbelievers, abominable, murderers, immoral persons, sorcerers, idolaters, and liars for starters! In other words, the horrid and the most detestable of humanity have their eternal reservations in that most horrific of all places.
UNIVERSALISTS must think that God is a liar therefore, and that no such lake shall ever come to pass. All of the Bible’s fiery threatenings of the place called Hell, for the UNIVERSALIST, vanish into smoke and get blown away by their denials:
“JUST SAY IT AIN’T SO.”
But saying it ain’t so doesn’t make it so. In fact it doesn’t change a thing, for when God say it is so, it is what He says it is. Isn’t that so? Of course, you can always get counsel from a UNIVERSALIST LIAR, and I am sure you know what God says about liars in Psalm 101:7,
“He who practices deceit shall not dwell within My house.”
So then:
“IF YOU ARE IN A UNIVERSALIST HOUSE OF DECEIT, IT ISN’T THE
HOUSE OF THE LORD, BUT THE HOUSE OF THE FATHER OF LIES,
AND THOSE WHO WORSHIP THERE ARE NOT YOUR BROTHERS.”
CONCLUSION
Modern Universalism tears the Bible to shreds, makes the Gospel a cruel joke, eternally imperils millions of people, and makes obsolete the entire Great Commission of Christ to His Church.
Sadly, it is taking its toll. When Pastor Chad Holtz lost his belief in Hell, he also recently lost his job. The pastor of a rural Methodist Church in North Carolina wrote a note on his facebook page supporting Rob Bell’s new book Love Wins. Two days later, Holtz was told that complaints from church members prompted his dismissal from Marrow’s Chapel in Henderson.
States Holtz:
