This is the third in the series entitled “The Age of Religious Fabrication.” The three are as follows:

-The Fabrication of Christian Homosexuality
-The Fabrication of Christian Relativism
-The Fabrication of Christian Sensationalism (Today’s Teaching)

We are not addressing the modern world-world in this series, but we are addressing the modern church-world. When it comes to homosexuality, moral relativism, and religious sensationalism, one would think that we would be dealing with the pagan world. After all, it is the world that is in perpetual bondage to the devil’s deceptions.

This is why we read very plainly that exact fact in II Corinthians 4:4,

“…in whose case the god of this world has blinded

the minds of the unbelieving….”

The Prince of Darkness has blindfolded the reason of the unbelieving and totally darkened their understanding. So when they are confronted with Bible truth, it makes no sense to them whatsoever because Satan has each time beforehand shut their eyes. As a result:

“THE BLINDED WORLD TAKES WILLINGLY INSTEAD

ALL OF THE DEVIL’S INSTRUCTIONS AS THEIR

ENTIRE SYSTEM OF TRUTH.”

That is what we  are seeing in America, and that is why over half of the people voted for the devil and not for Christ.

However, Satan doesn’t just walk back and forth on the earth blinding unbelievers. He also and especially in these last days hangs out in churches and deceives them into believing some of the foulest and most dangerous heresies that have ever infested the Christian Church. Today we will deal with yet another:

THE SENSATION OF THE NEW

There is something inherently titillating about the latest and the newest. So inviting and alluring. Yes, there may be the OLDIES BUT GOODIES, but we live in the world of the NEWBIES ARE BESTIES. It is true of mankind in general that the “NOW” always transcends the “THEN,” and the “IS” far outweighs the “WAS.”

It is ever so true particularly of our children that they want the “IN THINGS” and the “WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW,” and they drive their parents crazy. Kids are faddish, and their parents, though they would say otherwise, frankly down deep are not far behind.

The commercial world is most willing to cater to the NEWBIES and their NEWBIE-ITIS. It is what makes the world go around and the economy dynamic and not stagnant. It isn’t the OLD ROLLER COASTER that attracts the NEWBIES, but it is the NEW ROLLER COASTER. Today’s “SMART PHONE” quickly becomes yesterday’s DUMB PHONE. The HIGH TECHIES feed the NEWBIES’ appetites now almost on a daily basis. What is current becomes out-of-date before the box has been thrown away.

Perhaps that is what the wise man meant in Ecclesiastes 1:9,

“…so, there is nothing new under the sun.”

Because the moment you lay your eyes upon it, the new thing viewed is already a Milli-second old. Life is that way, like the new car that depreciates the moment you drive it off the show room floor onto the road. I just got a new computer with Windows 8, but as surely as 9 follows 8, I already feel Window’s 9 breathing down my neck. Windows 8 won’t be the new kid on the block very long.

(Right now, I am coming from the archaic Windows Express to Windows 8. I feel like I am giving birth, whatever that feels like. My precious wife’s labors and deliveries of our four children were the paramount expressions of her FEMINISMO. If I can even slightly conquer Windows 8, I feel it will be the paramount expression of my MACHISMO so far in life.)

Now back to the point! In point of fact, everything becomes old and behind the 8-ball the moment it was birthed, because:

“THAT WHICH IS TEMPORAL INSTANTLY BEGINS THE AGING AND

THE OLDING PROCESS, BUT THAT WHICH IS ETERNAL

ALONE IS FOREVER NEW FOR IT IS NOT SUBJECT

TO DECAY OF THE TEMPORAL.”

But the frenzy of the NEWBIES and their NEWBIE-ITIS will be with us always in this world. I have learned not to go out on Black Friday, but instead to stay home and get out of the way of the NEWBIE STAMPEDE. It just seems like the wisest thing to do not to arouse within me the NEWBIE GENES that all of us carry within us.

THE NEW LIGHT REVELATIONISTS

So too, the NEWBIE-ITIS VIRUS gets into the world of religion, and has throughout church history. And when it infects the church, “Give Me That Old Time Religion” is no longer in the top ten of the Religious Hit Parade. Rather it is “Give Me That New Time Religion” that tops the charts. It is no longer “Faith Of Our Fathers Living Still,” but rather, “Faith Of Their Children Evolving Still.” If you will, the ancient revelations of the Bible were good enough for our ancestors, but for their descendants, they have moved beyond to NEW REVELATION-ITIS.

The NEWBIE-ITIS VIRUS has now become pandemic in the religious and even in the Christian world. It is found under many different titles these days. THE NEW AGE MOVEMENT! THE NEW MORALITY! THE NEW LIGHT MOVEMENT! THE NEW REVELATION MOVEMENT! THE NEW SPIRITUALITY! THE NEW LIGHT LEADERSHIP!

What is in fact being touted now therefore is a NEW CHRISTIANITY that will enable the new light believers who follow the new light leadership to fly and soar spiritually and morally higher than ole Peter and Paul ever did. And those who have flown all know the thrilling sensation of flight, especially that first flight.

Now what THE NEW REVELATIONISTS offer are brand new, never-heard-before revelations all the time, so that the sensations of the first flight can be repeated over and over again. Multiple and constant spiritual orgasms! What a way to fly! Just give me that new time religion! Gotta have that new time religion!

Before you fasten your seatbelts for takeoff, you had better FIRST listen to the Word of God in Jeremiah 6:16 KJV,

“Thus saith the Lord, ‘Stand ye in the ways, and see, and

ask for the OLD PATHS, where is the GOOD WAY,

and walk therein, and ye shall find rest

for your souls….”

God almost sounds like an OLDIE BUT GOODIE now doesn’t He, and not like a NEWBIE at all? He certainly makes it sound like OLD IS GOOD – OLD PATHS ARE THE GOOD WAY, and by implication that NEW IS BAD – NEW PATHS ARE THE BAD WAY. Read it carefully!

God through Jeremiah is speaking to spiritual and moral wanderers and digressers who are straying from the old and well-marked paths of righteousness in God’s Word, and He commands them to ask for and walk in the OLD/ANCIENT PATHS. Why? Because there alone will they find, not the novel way or the thrill way, but the GOOD WAY which brings rest for their souls.

Allow me to illustrate and you decide which is the NEW PATH and the BAD WAY, and which is the OLD PATH and the GOOD WAY.

Leonard Sweet, who not only talks about new ways but in fact new orbits, by his own confession, is part of “The New Light Movement.” In his book Quantum Spirituality, he writes on page 137:

“The church must provide post-moderns with an alterity

of rituals by which they can turn and tune to one

another and feel connected to the cosmos.”

Oooohhh! There you go! Soaring through space and feeling connected to the cosmos. There it is! New Light Spiritual Space Travel Sensationalism! Spiritual Cosmonauts! You talk about a fabricated sensational religion under the guise of Christianity! Metaphysical language like this is typical in the NEW REVELATIONISTS.They use words and concepts totally foreign to Scripture but not foreign to New Age Metaphysics.

Translation:

“THE CHRISTIAN OF THE NEW LIGHT WILL BE A MYSTIC, ONE

WHO HAS EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL EXPERIENCES, OR HE

WILL HAVE EXPERIENCED NOTHING AT ALL.”

“The Apostle Paul on the other hand writes in his Epistle to the Romans – Romans 1:16,

“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God

unto salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first,

and also the Greek.”

Translation:

“THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY POWER THAT WILL

SAVE EVERY MAN IN EVERY SOCIETY FROM THE COURSE

OF DESTRUCTION THAT THEY ARE ON.”

Sweet goes on with his NEW LIGHT REVELATIONS:

“NEW LIGHT LEADERS ARE ENERGY CONNECTORS, OPEN SYSTEMS,

TRANSFORMATIONAL VORTICES WHO ALLOW THEMSELVES

FIRST TO RECEIVE AND CHANNEL THE HIGHEST ENERGIES

OF LOVE AND TRUTH COMING INTO THE PLANET.”

In that regard, the Apostle Peter says in II Peter 1:21,

“FOR NO PROPHECY WAS EVER MADE BY AN ACT OF HUMAN WILL,

BUT MEN MOVED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT SPOKE FROM GOD.”

Sweet says:

“ONE CAN BE A FAITHFUL DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST WITHOUT

DENYING THE FLICKERS OF THE SACRED IN FOLLOWERS

OF YAHWEH, OR KALI, OR KRISHNA.”

Jesus says in John 14:6,

“I AM THE WAY, AND THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE; NO ONE COMES

TO THE FATHER BUT THROUGH ME.”

All of the above is absolutely typical of the NEW LIGHT DARKNESS which confronts people around every religious corner in our world today! So we read the words of Paul to Timothy in II Timothy 4:2-4,

“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season;

reprove, exhort with great patience and exhortation.”

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound

doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they

will accumulate for themselves teachers in

accordance to their desires.”

“and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will

turn aside to myths.”

Paul warns us here about guys and gals as well who always come around with new stuff that tickles the ear and stimulates the emotions. He warns us about NEWBIE PREACHERS and PREACHERESSES who come with new exciting stuff and flesh-pleasing stuff that is not based on sound doctrine. Being one with the cosmos may sound spacey and spicy, but it will not make me one with God through the blood of Jesus Christ.

THE OLD AND THE NEW GOSPEL

In the NEW LIGHT GOSPEL MOVEMENT of Leonard Sweet and Karl Rahner and David Spangler you will find:

“A GOSPEL THAT CONNECTS THE COSMIC BODY OF CHRIST

WITH ALL LIFE FORMS.”

In the OLD GOSPEL LIGHT you will find:

“THE GOSPEL OF THE SIN-CLEANSING BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST

WHO RECONCILES SINNERS TO GOD.”

THE OLD AND THE NEW BOOK OF REVELATION

In David Spangler’s book Revelation: The Birth of a New Age you will find:

“A COMPILATION OF CHANNELED TRANSMISSIONS  WHICH SPANGLER

RECEIVED FROM HIS DISEMBODIED SPIRIT GUIDE ‘JOHN.'”

In the Apostle John’s book Revelation you will find:

“THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST…WHICH HE SENT AND

COMMUNICATED BY HIS ANGEL TO HIS

BOND-SERVANT JOHN.”

CHRIST AND KRISHNA

Sweet states:

“ONE CAN BE A FAITHFUL DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST, WITHOUT DENYING

THE FLICKERS OF THE SACRED IN FOLLOWERS OF YAHWEH,

OR KALI, OR KRISHNA.”

Jesus states in John 14:6,

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes

to the Father, but through Me.”

I warn my readers, as sensational as this NEW COSMIC LIGHT AND TRAVEL may sound, it has been sent by hellions from the Kingdom of darkness. If you go for it, the Prince of Darkness is playing you for a chump. I pray that I can run interference between you and the demons and get you home safely.

Why my great concern? Because we read in I Timothy 4:1,

“But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away

from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits,

and doctrines of demons.”

Note:

“SOME WILL FALL AWAY FROM THE FAITH, NOT ALL.”

God has commanded that His people separate from the errors and not join with them. People  who reject or trifle with this warning find themselves in the great apostasy of the end times. Listen:

“THIS IS NOT THE GREAT COMMISSION BUT THE GREAT CONFUSION

WHICH IS GROWING INTO THE GREAT CAPITULATION.”

BIBLE KNOWLEDGE AND NEW REVELATION

You see, and it ought to not only put up red flags, but shoot up red flares and scare the gajeebies out of us, what now is happening as a result of all of “THE NEWBIE REVELATIONISTS” is:

“‘IT IS WRITTEN’ IS BEING REPLACED BY

‘THE LORD REVEALED TO ME.’”

It goes even further into the great-danger zone. It is not uncommon now to hear “THE NEWBIE PREACHERS AND PREACHERESSES” make a distinction between “BIBLE KNOWLEDGE AND NEW KNOWLEDGE,” as well as between “BIBLE REVELATION AND NEW REVELATION.” You will now hear from the pulpit statements like:

“WE NEED MORE THAN BIBLE KNOWLEDGE, WE NEED NEW

REVELATION FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIVES.”

You see:

“IT COMES DOWN TO THE BIBLE BEING LIKENED TO A CAR’S

DIM-LIGHTS, AND THE NEW REVELATION BEING

LIKENED TO A CAR’S BRIGHT-LIGHTS.”

This ought to set our teeth on edge, for now we are entering for sure the world of the cults with their revelation beyond the Bible.

Then it should not surprise us to experience in church the pastor or the pastoress telling the congregation, “We shall now read such and such a passage from Scripture,” which is then read. However, that Scripture receives only slight treatment in the sermon.

Then the pastor or pastoress shares with the congregation a word-for-word new revelation that he or she received from the Lord in the car or in the bathtub, which revelation is in reality the basis for the sermon.

However, when the Bible was read, there was little if any reaction in the congregation by way of “Amen” or “Praise the Lord” or “Preach It!” After all, that is “Old Hat” and for the religious newbies lacks the “Wow Factor.” But when the “New Revelation” hot from the bathtub was read and then preached on, there were “Amens” and “Hallelujahs” and “Praise the Lords.” Yes, and great “Applause” at times. Nothing more stimulating than “A New Revelation Sensation!”

But it goes further, as the claim is that what is about to be shared is a brand new revelation from God that has never before in all of history fallen on the ears of any man. Even Ford and Sony can’t compete with the “Newbie Revelators.” “The Modern Techies” have nothing over “The Modern Newbies.”

There is only one huge problem here, and that is:

“THERE HAS NOT BEEN, IS NOT NOW, AND NEVER WILL BE AGAIN

ANOTHER DIVINELY INSPIRED AND INFALLIBLE REVELATION

SINCE THE BIBLE WAS COMPLETED AND THE  CANON

OF SCRIPTURE CLOSED.”

That is why we are clearly and unmistakably told by the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:20,

“…having been built upon the foundation of the apostles

and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the

corner stone.”

This foundation is time tested and history proven without a crack to be seen. The Christian Faith is built upon the likes of Moses and Isaiah and Daniel and Paul and Peter and James. Christianity is not now, never has been, and never will be built upon “NEWBIES” but upon “OLDIES.” They alone were inspired by the Holy Spirit (II Timothy 3:16) to write God’s perfect Word and that Word and that Word alone will abide forever (I Peter 1:25). All other words and revelations shall dissolve like a Scrabble Game ended and the board cleared and the letters boxed.

Hear it! In all of this NEW LIGHT and NEW REVELATION heresy, we must affirm that the highest revelation to the soul and spirit of man is when the Spirit of Grace gives special understanding and convincing light to Scripture. It  is like the clear shining of the moon and stars, which is the greatest light in a world of darkness. It likewise is a light that creates in the soul and spirit of man a desire for more.

But any preaching or prophesying that does not flow directly from the Word of God/The Bible is uninspired, fallible, and always skewed. Always! It brings darkness and a sense that this is not God. The Holy Spirit will give those who are devoted to the Word of God a sense of the murky and dark.  It does not bring joy but grief! Once the spiritually and Biblically sensitive get that bogus new-light, new-revelation preaching and prophesying into themselves, they feel like  they are going to die, and that they are candidates for the ER if not the OR.

Think for instance about the NEW MORALITY and the NEW MORALISTS today in the church, on the pulpit and off, who passively condone adultery and fornication and perversion in the name of love and acceptance and tolerance. And that in a society where adultery is normal today with 65% of husbands and 55% of wives cheating on their spouse by the age of 40. And of course losing your virginity before marriage is now the NEW NORMAL.

We read about false prophets throughout the Bible in the Old and New Testaments, such as Ezekiel 13:10,

“It is definitely because they have misled My people by saying, “Peace!”

when there is no peace. And when anyone builds a wall, behold

they plaster it over with whitewash.”

Preaching peace when there is no peace, which anesthetizes their own consciences and the consciences of the people against sin in their own lives and in the lives of the people! In fact they cover over cracks in the walls of Zion with untempered mortar/whitewash. So sin can come into the church and be sanctified by covering it over. Prophets, priests, and parishioners in Zion can then live as they jolly well please and be uncensored. Just exactly what is happening today! WHITE WASHED SIN-FILLED CHRISTIANITY!

Then the whitewashed crack becomes wider and wider until a chasm separates the church from God. One crack covered over will always cause more cracks, even as one uncorrected heresy will always cause more heresies. The chasm between God and the church widens and the church falls into the chasm, and the sense of God’s presence disappears. And in that deepening and widening chasm, to use another analogy, more and more being part of such a church brings the feeling of being part of an ill-supplied army that every Sunday morning has to forage for food. That is happening in churches across the nation and across the world. I have seen it first hand and up close.

THE POWER OF THE SENSES OVER THE SOUL

Have you ever wondered what is behind the concept of a “Three Ring Circus?” Wouldn’t just one ring of spectacular action do the job and draw the spectators? Apparently not! The human senses of sight and sound need great and multiple stimulations in order to rivet man’s attention for more than a minute or two. Stay ahead of the senses so that man cannot take it all in at once, and then you have the greater possibility of bringing him to the circus again and again and again.

You see:

“THAT WHICH PLEASES THE SENSES IS INDEED THE

PLEASURE OF THE MIND.”

It is equally true:

“THE PLEASURES AND SPECTACLES THAT GRATIFY THE SENSES

ARE VERY TRANSIENT, AND THE MIND THEN

IS PRONE TO WONDER.”

Therefore:

“ENABLE THE SENSES TO PRESENT THE MIND OF MAN WITH CONSTANT

AND GLORIOUS PLEASURES, AND YOU THEN WILL SUPPLY

AND GRIP THE MIND OF MAN WITH CONTINUAL

FRESH AND PLEASING PERCEPTIONS.”

Thus it is if you want to get and keep a big crowd for a fireworks display on the 4^th of July, you had better launch multiple sights and sounds – dazzlers and boomers – and keep them coming. A three ring circus in the sky must be the order of the night, that is, if you don’t want the crowd to boo and beat it. Why? Because:

“THE SENSES ARE THE SERVANTS OF THE MIND’S FEROCIOUS

APPETITE FOR DAZZLING AND ACTION IMAGES.”

Satan knew the power of the senses over the soul. He brought the whole world down into sin by sense stimulation. He worked it to perfection, that is, if there is such a thing as perfected imperfection. The sight, the smell, the touch, the taste of the alluring fruit, and the serpent’s cunning voice, overwhelmed their reason and their souls.

How in the world did Satan induce Eve to eat the apple against the express prohibition and severest of warnings by God Himself in Genesis 2:17,

“…but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil You shall

not eat, for in the day that you eat from It

you shall surely die.”

How did Satan do that? The same way he has done it for ages to Adam and Eve, to us, and to all men:
“DANGLE THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT AND BRING DOUBT UPON

THE WORD OF GOD – IN THAT ORDER.”

That is the two-stroke engine by which he tore down the godly fabric of the Divine Image in our first parents, and he has been doing it ever since.

THE RELIGION OF SENSATIONS

This is not only a method that the devil uses to capture the souls of men – sensual and soulish gratification – but it can be used in religion as well. It attracts crowds, increases numbers, and fills offering plates. Fabricate a religion of dazzling action and images, and the mind and emotions of man will be intrigued and impressed.

It was said by Jesus of the Pharisees in his days on earth as we read in Matthew 23:5,

“But they do all their deeds to be noticed by man.”

However, as sad and sick as that is, today we have those who are fabricating a religion of sensuality and sensationalism to draw the curiosity seekers and turn them into devotees to their SIGHT SOUND – LIGHTS SOUND ACTION – THRILLS CHILLS SPILLS – RAZZLE DAZZLE RELIGION.

We are told in no uncertain terms by the Lord that we are as Christians not to be SENSED BASED but rather FAITH BASED. He puts it in this way in II Corinthians 5:7,

“For we walk by faith and not by sight.”

However, religious fabricators today are trying to reverse His words into saying:

“For we walk by sight and faith.”

Huge difference! Two different worlds! The FAITH WORLD and the SENSE WORLD! We are called to bring people into the FAITH DOMINATED WORLD and out of the SENSE DOMINATED WORLD – into the SPIRIT DOMINATED WORLD and out of the FLESH DOMINATED WORLD. The exact opposite is happening today!

ILLUSTRATION

The entire congregation was seated for the sermon with their children. In the flow of the sermon, the young preacher said,

“GOD IS GOING TO DO WILD AND CRAZY THINGS IN THIS CHURCH.”

It should be noted that you will find sermons on the internet by the same title. This young man is not alone. One I found was entitled OUR WILD AND CRAZY GOD.

Of course, that figures, for the only kind of God that would do WILD AND CRAZY THINGS is a WILD AND CRAZY GOD. And what is more, if the WILD AND CRAZY GOD does WILD AND CRAZY THINGS, we might just as well get WILD AND CRAZY too.

FIRST, the young preacher was pushing the modern and most appealing SHOCK VALUE GOD in what is becoming a shock proof society which demands more and more shock. It is addicting and demands more and stronger. If you will, the XBOX GOD with its wild and crazy action that modern kids and teens can better relate to. Or again, the carnal CARNY GOD on the carnival midway where you will find the shocking and the bazaar! The wildly entertaining God Who will keep you spell-bound and breathless at all times.

In short:

“A WILD AND CRAZY GOD CREATED/FABRICATED AFTER MAN’S

SENSE-CRAZED IMAGE.”

In fact:

“THIS WILD AND CRAZY GOD IS THE POSTER GOD FOR MUCH OF THE

SENSE-CRAZED MODERN CHARISMANIA CHURCH.”

God says to us in this regard in Psalm 50:21-22,

“…you thought that I was just like you; I will reprove you, and

state the case in order before your eyes.”

“Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear

You in pieces, and there be none to deliver.”

SECOND, what the preacher was trying to do to them, and I believe to himself as well, was to psyche up some kind of sense-image faith (a contradiction in terms) in a jazzed-up and freaked-out God.  It was a faith based upon sense and sensational imagery about a modern customized God of thrill-show and sensational entertainment.

Sense-faith in a wild and crazy God like Steve Martin’s WILD AND CRAZY GUYS! This was a church that was being led into a SENSATIONAL FAITH but not into SAVING FAITH. Faith in a SPECTACLE GOD and not in a SAVING GOD! It was THE FABRICATION OF A SENSUALIZED AND SENSATIONALIZED CHRISTIANITY.

However, when God does not come through with His WILD AND CRAZY SHOW, that sense-faith will fall like a rock. Why? Because it is based in the sensual and not in the spiritual! Because it joins us to a FICTIONAL CHRIST in our sense-filled heads, and not to the FACTUAL CHRIST in our faith-filled hearts.

We must remember the words of Jesus in John 4:24,

“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must

worship in spirit and truth.”

We must note that He does not say,

“God is flesh, and those who worship Him must

worship in flesh and sense.”

THIRD, nowhere in the Bible is God in any shape, form, or manner presented as a WILD AND CRAZY GOD Who goes about doing WILD AND CRAZY THINGS. Nowhere! No how! No way! It is a complete distorting and debasing of God for sense and sensation effect. Flesh titillation, vibration, sensation!

The Bible talks about “Wild Beasts” and “Wild Man” but never about a “Wild God.” Wildness is untamedness, savageness, ferociousness, carnivorousness, and mindlessness. When applied to God it is nothing less than sheer blasphemy.

Nor does the Bible ever associate God with something so demented and insane as CRAZINESS. It is unthinkable to even imagine God doing crazy things, let alone being crazy. God, You haven’t lost Your Mind, we have! Forgive us and heal please!

Let me clean up this puke and disinfect our minds with the holy, glorious, and Holy Spirit inspired words of Romans 16:27,

“…to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be

the glory forever. Amen.”

FOURTH, where in the world is all of this coming from? It is coming from a fabricated God concept of God as an ACTION-JACKSON GOD. That is to say, God is the MOVER-GR0OVER GOD. That is the religious sensationalist’s definition of God’s essence – action, performance, motion. In order to fellowship with God, you had better be in shape, because you will have to talk with God while He is running the eternal mile. Constant-motion Christ!

You see, when you think of God like this, you will be chiefly concentrating on “THE NEXT MOVE OF GOD” as the theme of the Christian life. How and where God is going to put His next move on the world and in the church! No, not about your next time with God to simply sit and fellowship and talk and rest awhile with God! Nope! Nothing so boring as that! Nothing so inactive as LEANING ON THE EVERLASTING ARMS OF JESUS. You then don’t come to church to worship God, but primarily to see God put on some moves.

That is:

“YOU WILL PRIMARILY BE LOOKING FOR DIVINE MOTION WHICH

CAUSES LOTS OF COMMOTION WHICH CAUSES

LOTS OF EMOTION.”

And if the motion and commotion are not there, then it is that faith flounders and desperation sets in. Where is God? He is not genuflecting and doing hands stands. So then what often happens is this:

“FABRICATED-MANUFACTURED-CONTRIVED  ACTION TO GET THE DESIRED

REACTION TO SECURE THE NECESSARY TRANSACTION

BETWEEN GOD AND MAN.”

Wrong! Wrong! Essentially wrong? God is not defined by WHAT HE DOES, but by WHO HE IS? God doesn’t have to do anything to be God, and whatever He does in our lives is sheer sovereign grace and mercy, not by human announcement or scheduling or programming.

And what is even more to the point, the greatest thing He ever did for us was in that awful, sagging, motionless, breathless death as His Son breathed His last on the painful spikes for lost and dead-in-sin sinners like you and me and everyone.

God defined Himself very clearly to Moses in Exodus 3:14,

“And God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM’; and He said,

‘Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM

has sent me to you.’”

He did not define Himself by saying,

“And God said to Moses, ‘I DO WHAT I DO’; and He said,

‘Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I DO’

has sent me to you.’”

FIFTH, in all of my years of preaching the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit, I have never sensed dead air or a dead-end street to nowhere. God through His Word is always doing what no one else could do, and going where no one else can go. He is convicting, breaking, humbling, saving, freeing, delivering, and healing all the while we are preaching.

Though unseen, God is always accomplishing His purposes in the hearts and lives of sinners and saints. He always has outdone me by several infinities. And when the altar calls were given, I simply each time stood back and watched amazed at His mighty acts that He had already done. I rejoiced and bathed myself at the altars of salvation in His glory and grace.

I have joined with the Apostle Paul more times than I could possibly remember in Romans 1:16 where he triumphantly declares:

“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of

God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew

first and also to the Greek.”

God does not do wild and crazy things, but He does do awesome and glorious things, and to me, His most awesome and glorious miracle is when He draws a sinner to His Son our Savior Jesus Christ. Glory be to God forever and ever!

Indeed:

“THE “I AM WHO AM” – IS WHO HE IS – THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD“

CONCLUSION

Start right and end right! Start wrong and end wrong! The young preacher went on to say:

“THE ANGELS OF GOD ARE POGO STICKING AND KARATE KICKING

AROUND THE SANCTUARY THIS MORNING.”

I don’t have time for this. All that we have taught once again applies. It is nothing more or less than THE FABRICATION OF RELIGIOUS SENSATIONALISM. And to accomplish that, you have to misrepresent God and His angels too who I am sure would be surprised to be characterized as POGO STICKERS and KARATE KICKERS. (I cleaned up the first one, would you please clean up this one.)

Then the young fabricator said to his church:

“THE BIBLE IS SUCH A CONFUSING BOOK.”

No son, the Bible isn’t confused and confusing, you are! Terribly! Lethally! Amen!
