Haiti and Pat Robertson

Oh how the heathen press and the apostate church get their ire and fire burning and their smokestacks smoking, as they immediately attack any minister of God who makes a comment about God rolling up His sleeve and baring His arm of judgment against the great wickedness of peoples, cities or nations on planet earth. Just the concept of a “God of Wrath” dealing in judgment with sinful mankind sets off a furor of condemnation against those who even dare to suggest such a thing!

Recently in the aftermath of the monster earthquake and the after-quakes that have devastated the island nation of Haiti, as well as killing and seriously injuring countless hundreds of thousands of Haitians and foreigners, Evangelist Pat Robertson made some internationally televised comments about Haiti being under a curse because it had made a pact with Satan early in its history. Robertson’s comments were: “They were under the heel of the French…and they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, ‘We will serve you if you’ll get us free of the French. True story. And the devil said, ‘OK, it’s a deal. Ever since, they have been cursed by one thing after another.’”

Now then, that purported event in Haitian history is being challenged by Haitians themselves. Jean R. Galin, a Ph.D and minister in Haiti, said that there is no substantiation for Robertson’s claim. Galin also stated that there is no evidence for the idea of a pact with Satan or a curse from God – even after this quake.

What the media did not report of course is Pat Robertson’s ministry supporting Haiti over the years with huge amounts of food, medicine as well as tens of  thousands of dollars.

However:

Critics immediately assumed that this is what Robertson meant, and put those words into his mouth. I have seen and heard it time and time again, and so have you. If you want to start a war of words, simply mention even the faintest possibility that God is angry and manifesting His wrath against  evil nations, cities or peoples of the world through cataclysmic upheavals of nature. Then the media wolves and the apostate church coyotes will be howling night and day announcing their disapproval of such a sick and warped theology.

In short, they are again calling Pat Robertson an "idiot" and a "fool" as they have many times before.  I guess while the terms "idiot" and "fool" are off limits to children, they are okay for the secular press and the seminary professor.

JUST MENTION THE DEVIL

Just for openers, today make the slightest reference to Satan, and you will then have a devil-of-a-time on your hands with today’s heathen pundits as well as apostate preachers and seminary professors. Just mention the devil, and that will do it! Go further, and mention spiritual warfare against powers of darkness, or demon possession and exorcism, and they look at you like you are a creature from outer space.

I am not talking about the world’s reaction, I am talking about the modern church’s reaction. Now more often than not, to fight for the truth of God’s Word and come against untruth, your biggest opposition will come from the religious world and not from the world-world.

As a kid, I believed in the devil long before I believed in God. Why? Because I saw then, and shamefully often still see to this day, so much more of hell and the devil in many churches than I see in the world. There is nothing worse than a church war! God have mercy! That is because the devil works harder against light (church) than he does against darkness (world). I mean that he is smarter than a lot of church people in that he will never work against himself! Darkness is his friend while light is his enemy. Many pastors and seminary professors are helping Satan turn North America into THE DARK CONTINENT.

The moment Pat Robertson mentioned a "Haitian Pact With The Devil" and a consequent curse upon them, He literally opened a can of worms, or should I say a snakepit. Am I exaggerating? Not in the least bit. Pat immediately was up against the pagan press and the apostate seminaries and churches who no longer believe that Satan is a real living spirit being, but merely a big bad wolf extracted from the fairytale classics. 

You see, the idea is today that Satan is only for the uneducated. That is not always stated, but is implicity there. The notion of a real being called Satan is for those who are not successful financially, and who are not the cream of our society. Really now, that Satan stuff is for "Religious Rednecks Down South" and "Emotinally Affected Holy Rollers" who are always casting out imaginary demons. Those who have higher education will not stoop so low as to believe in a personal devil. That in much of the ritualistic  high-chruch circles is viewed as the badge of stupidity!

Rather, Satan is at worst only a "Symbol for Evil." A recent Gallup Poll taken among only born-again Christians indicated that a whopping 49% agreed with this statement:

But then again, since when does a Gallup Poll, or any other poll, determine what is sin and what is not sin, or whether Satan is a symbol or a very real fallen angel – Hell’s bad boy! In the 1960s we heard from Harvey Cox that God was dead – the “God is Dead Movement.” Now we are hearing about Satan being a symbol for evil – the "Satan is Dead Movement." That of course makes God a liar and makes Jesus an idiot for He was then only dueling in the wilderness with a "Symbol for Evil"  and not a real devil.

A CURSE-UNCONSCIOUS AGE

Even as the secular press and the apostate church have become critical of those who are “Satan-Conscious” in human events, so they in turn have become “Satan-Unconscious” to the imperiling of their own souls and the souls of those under their influence.

To mention Satan in human affairs is one thing, but to bring up "Curses" in the same breath is quite another. Now Pat Robertson has really up and done it! As there are those who will develope an apostaste  rash at the mention of a real devil, so there are those in the world and the church who will heap scorn upon the idea of curses, and write the whole thing off as nothing more than fairy tale stuff – witches casting spells on handsome princes and turning them into toads. So:

“AS A RESULT OF THEIR CHIDING THOSE WHO ARE OVERLY CURSE-

CONSCIOUS, AND THERE ARE THOSE, THEY AS A RESULT

HAVE BECOME COMPLETELY CURSE-UNCONSCIOUS.”

To be curse-unconscious is a very dangerous place to be in. The King James Version of the Bible uses the word “Curse” or “Cursed” 200 times. Without belaboring this point, for it is not the chief emphasis of this article on Haiti and Pat Robertson, a curse in the Bible is a supernatural power for harm that comes upon a specific person or group of persons. A curse can only come from God or Satan, and only from Satan if God allows it.

I mean to say, read in Deuteronomy 28:15-48 about the curses that God shall put upon God-defying wicked nations and peoples like America! It is enough to blow your mind and buckle the knees of an entire nation before God in repentance and confession of national sins. I can’t spend time here, but if you read the curses, you will find that the greater share of these Divine curses are happening upon and in America as I write this.

“I will bless those who bless you, and curse those

who curse you…”

Saddam Hussein hired contract-assassins to kill Jews, and shot his Scud missiles into Israel during the Gulf War. Old Saddam is hard to find these days, unless you look for him at the end of a rope. His sons are dead, and his wife and daughters are in  exile. His compatriots are either dead, in prison, or perhaps still hiding somewhere in dirt holes like that from which Saddam was pulled out like a cursed rat.

Likewise, "Wacko Mahmoud Ahmadinejad" of Iran has vowed to destroy Israel and is under the curse of Almighty God. He shall go the way one day of Adolf Hitler and his Third Reich. They all end up crushed under the curse of God upon those who harm God’s chosen people – Israel.

Finally, those that curse God’s Israel will come under the curse of Balaam who was on his way to curse God’s chosen ones, and instead the curse backfired as the talking jackass on which he was riding crushed his foot against the mountain side. (Numbers 22:25)

God can and does unleash any force of nature He so chooses to curse the wicked in their tracks. If we don’t know and believe that yet, given the overly abundant truth of God’s Word about curses, then like Balaam, we too are literally dumber than his jackass.

BUT WHAT IF HE DID SAY SO?

Now to the real point of this response to the Robertson revilers! What if in fact Pat Robertson did say that God’s wrath was being poured out upon Haiti? Haiti aside for the moment, why is this thought so controversial in the world, and so repugnant in the religious community? It is really something! When the secular world and much of the ecclesiastical world are confronted with the possibility of God’s wrath being poured out through nature supernaturally, they remind me of people suffering from food poisoning who are in pain and travail and puke out these truths many times over. They simply cannot stomach them!

“WHETHER SATAN OR GOD IS RULING THE WORLD.”

Again and again, when that happens, God then considers it high time for Him to set the record straight, and assert His prerogative of fierce judgment against the rotten and rebellious peoples of the earth. Any "DoDo" can read all about it and get kicked in the pants with the truth.

Whether it is by fire, war, plague, wind, drought, earthquake or what have you, God wrathfully comes against the professed enemies of Himself, of virtue, and of His Son Jesus Christ. Those preachers and teachers who deny this reality are about as dumb as the fish who denies the existence of humidity. I think if they look and listen closely they will see and hear a dark form with a red suit, pointed tail and horns whispering in theirs ears the sweet nothings of today’s lying sugar gospel.

“For the wrath of God is (note the present tense) revealed from heaven

against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who

suppress the truth in unrighteousness.”  

Then of course, he burned His wrath upon and into Sodom and Gomorrah by explosions of fire and brimstone, reducing these twin cities of rot and perversion instantly to ashes. You can read about this in Genesis 17. All of the immoral and unrighteous inhabitants were reduced to cinders.

But there was a righteous man whose name was Lot. God spared Lot and his family. You will remember Lot’s wife looking back. People who are on the road to rescue do not only look back, but often go back as they long for the “bad old days.”

“IF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS NOT CALLED TO

JUDGMENT, GOD WILL OWE A PERSONAL APOLOGY

TO SODOM AND GOMORRAH.”

You say, “Boy Bob, that’s all pretty heavy.” I say, “Yes it is heavy, real heavy, and it is ‘God’s Honest Truth.’” He even unloads on those who say that He is their God. God did not authorize Satan to send fiery serpents amongst His moaning and murmuring people. He did it Himself! He sent fire- breathing and biting vipers that bit the complainers and many of them were killed. Wiped out! God put the bite on them, and that was that. God is very versatile and creative in His wrath. You can read of this in Numbers 21.

In this case of the fire-biting serpents, He gave the people an out. It was not a simple thing to do because for them it made no sense. Moses told them that if the sinful murmurers who had been bitten and were sick unto death, looked at a bronze serpent on a pole, they would be healed and spared. I mean, it was the serpents that bit, sickened and killed many in the first place. Why would they look at a bronze serpent on a pole that would heal them and save their lives?

That made about as much sense to them as the Gospel of Salvation in Jesus Christ does to the pagan mind. To be saved from our sins and Hell, we must look to the God-man on a cross who became sin for us. The mystery of he Gospel, as the Bible is perfectly consistent from beginning to end!

DISARMING  GOD’S JUDGMENT-ALARM SYSTEM

“THE APOSTASY.”

If you will:

Falling away from what? From the God of the Word and from the Word of God! Think today about how often “Biblical Scholars” are quoted by Newsweek, Time, the Associated Press etc. They make statements that blatantly contradict the Scriptures day after day after day. “Well,” you say, “they must be the ones in the know, after all, they are scholars.” Wrong! Not in the great apostasy in which heretics are called scholars and false prophets are called anointed. And that is where we are now – smack dab in the middle of it!

Droves of scholars, preachers and professors today know about the Bible, but they don’t know the Bible. They know about the Lord Jesus Christ, but they don’t know the Lord Jesus Christ. Never mind discussing with them the existence of the devil. That is not their main problem. What is really wrong with them is that they barely believe in the existence of God, let alone a God of judgment.

When the earthquake that hit Haiti should be sending shock waves of warning through the churches via their pastor’s eschatalogical preaching, there is not even a slight tremor. They are fiddling away their ministries while Rome burns. They remind me of the words of Jeremiah 23:17,

“They keep saying to those who despise Me, ‘The Lord has

said, ‘You will have peace;’ and as for everyone who

walks in the stubbornness of their own heart,

   they say, ‘Calamity shall not come upon you.”

And in so doing, they are disarming the alarm system of God’s impending judgment upon a terribly wicked world. That is what these temporal judgments are:

"GOD’S ETERNAL JUDGMENT ALARM SYSTEM."

Instead, they tell people what they want to hear. As a result we have these huge mega-churches today, who if they are mentally and spiritually exercised with any heavy, substantive truths about the signs of the times and the judgments of God pointing forward to the great final judgment day, they can’t handle it. These monster churches then soon resemble beached-whales after twenty-five minutes of beach-football. 

No, Pat Robertson is not a wacko! Pat knows full well that we cannot accept Jesus Christ and declare Him as our Lord and Savior without persecution. Pat knows that we can’t stand up for the truth of the Word of God and come against falsehood without being rejected and ostracized by the world and the apostate church. Those preachers who are true to the Lord and His Word will be called fools. Always remember the words Paul in I Corinthians 3:18,

"If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age,

let him become foolish that he may become wise." 

That is to say:

"FOOLISH TO THE WORLD, BUT WISE TO GOD."

Listen, I would rather be called a FOOL by the world and be called WISE by God every day of the week and twice on Sunday!!!

“YOU ARE FALSIFYING THE WORD OF GOD, UNDERCUTTING THE

CHRISTIAN CHURCH, AND IMPERILING THE SOULS OF MANY

WHO THROUGH YOUR MINISTRY ARE HAVING THEIR

   FEAR OF DIVINE JUDGMENT FOR SIN TEMPORALLY,

ETERNALLY, AND DANGEROUSLY DULLED IF

NOT DISMISSED ALTOGETHER.”

For you I close with the words of Jeremiah 23:14,

thing; the committing of adultery and walking in falsehood;

and they strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no

one has turned back from his wickedness. All of them

have become to Me like Sodom, and her inhabitants

like Gomorrah.”
