historyWE MUST NEVER ALLOW OURSELVES TO INTERPRET THE BIBLE BY HISTORY. RATHER, WE MUST ALWAYS INTERPRET HISTORY BY THE BIBLE.

INTRODUCTION
When it comes to Israel and Jerusalem, many ecclesiastical fellowships today have the prophetic awareness of a petrified rock or a budding apeman in the Tarzan Series. Bible prophecy and historical fulfillment makes about as much sense to many religionists as hastily spray-painted graffiti in a New York subway. I have seen their faces when I try to prophetically engage them in conversation, and they look like they are chewing on a cold burger and drinking a cup of bad coffee.

jerusalemABIMELECH AND SARAH

You may recall the story. King Abimelech of Gerar was about to do something in his life that would have resulted in sure death for himself and for those with  him. Abimelech was intent on taking as his wife Sarah who of course was the wife of Abraham. King Abimelech was the type who when it comes to women, when he sees what he likes, he takes it.  A grab, reach, or go without kind of guy. If it looks good, go for it. If it feels good, do it. We read in Genesis 20:3 that God appeared to Abimelech in a dream and said to him:

Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman you have taken, for she is married.”

But God stopped him on his adulterous path. That is most importent to see in this teaching later on. We read in Genesis 20:6 of God’s words to Abimelech,

“…and I also kept you from sinning against Me, therefore I did not let you touch her.”
